Fresh from his tour of Denmark where he had gone with the Jeckaki Band, Emperor Orlandoh will officially launch his new album this weekend.
Haki Yange, Orlandoh’s ninth album in as many years, is not very different from his previous musical undertakings although he achieves a subtle balance between the charisma of Ragga Dee and energy of Jose Chameleone, making it enchanting and groovy.

Orlandoh also tries out popular reggaeton in Analiya and Nerekereza The latter was produced by veteran producer Tim Kizito in the US.
He also ventures into twist, a 60s style on Gaada (old style). Nsasira is a gospel track with mid-tempo reggae, considerably slower in tempo than the rest of the album. In Ekisumuluzo, Orlandoh revisits his familiar style of roots reggae.

Come Back is an unsatisfactory attempt at the mid-80s South African Mbaqanga rhythms while Lady is Orlandoh’s contribution to UTAKE music. Young fans will like this upbeat, slamming, popular East African style.

Omubali (street talk for ‘music’) plays like Orlandoh’s answer to Chameleone’s Bomboclat.
Other tracks include Mwanyinaze and Tafuta, (sang entirely in Swahili) and Nsimye Gwe.

The first show takes place tonight at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) main Exhibition Hall for sh10,000 general seating and sh30,000 for VIP. The second show will take place at Ggaba Beach for sh5,000. Gates will be open at 10am.

Queued up to perform are artiste of the year Bobi Wine, veteran Mariam Ndagire, Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Tanzanian singer Mad Ice, Ragga Dee, Obsessions, Dream Girls and Amarula Family.
