FIFA has approved a second Goal Project that will see FUFA acquire a modern technical centre from the global soccer body.

In a communication yesterday, FIFA president Sepp Blatter said that Uganda was among countries that were considered for the second project. The details will come in next month.

“Your member association is one of the countries selected to get the second Goal Project. This will enable you to realise a second priority project of your association within a framework of your football development,” Blatter said.

FUFA CEO Charles Masembe said that the federation had already identified three sites from which a FIFA technical team will choose from for the complex meant to occupy up to 15 acres of land.

FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa said that the centre will accommodate all the national teams, referees and any soccer development related projects.

FIFA last year suspended the project after FUFA House, built under the goal project was mortgaged to Swift Commodities Limited at sh300m by the ousted Denis Obua administration.

Meanwhile, FUFA has stopped Cranes defender Tom Ssemwogerere’s move to Rwandan club ATRACO.

The federation has also told players’ agent Mujib Kasule to disregard contracts he had offered to manage six other players.

The players are Dan Wagaluka, Anthony Bongole, Tonny Mawejje, Jeremiya Ssebuyira, Stephen Bengo and Augustine Nsumba.
