This ensemble has had weekly stand-up comedy shows all year round. So, at the end, they are presenting their best skits selected by their ardent fans. “For the last month, we have been asking our regular patrons to select their best skits of the year,” says Phillip Luswata, the group’s artistic director.

Featuring more than 15 stand-up, sketches and variety acts, the grand comedy will take up three hours, including a deserved music break.

Frobisha Lwanga’s incisive humour and broad criticism should not only cause laughter, but also raise eyebrows. Others to watch are Gerald Rutaro, Ricahard Tuwangye and Dickson Zizinga.
Fagil Mandy, an education consultant and playwright, will also put up a comedy skit.

If you have the ability to interpret satire, you will find the skits sincere and credible. If you cannot stomach satire, it could turn out to be a torrent of lunacy. But as the only comedians with a corporate audience, that does not bother them.

The grand comedy is part of the activities to mark 50 years of drama in Uganda. The comedy is supported by Pilsner Lager and the Golden Drama Foundation.
