Finally, East World returned home after several music expeditions that were crowned with the launching of their second Pam Awards album, Foda at Sabrina’s pub in Kampala. No sooner had Mcee Robert Segawa counted the last year 2004 minute than flooding blasts of fireworks rocked Iganga town. Scared residents in town quarters and celebrants, who had gathered in various spots waiting to celebrate the New Year took off for their lives. Even those who had entered Iganga Secondary School play ground, the venue for the show scrambled for the exit on hearing the first blast. It was a new phenomenon in the town. By the time the Stone Band plugged the wires and curtain-raisers groaned their vocals, the audience was already frenzied with the live atmosphere.
First, was Segawa himself playing double with Ekimbewo, followed by Kiira radio’s Captain Rocky aka James Otuba thrilling the already set audience with Ekitooke Kifa Nsalira, and miming to Raga Dee’s Mbawe as well as several of his own tracks.
Finally, East World stormed the stage. “Foda Ekute Omuliro (for Foda on fire),” they shouted as they took to the floor. They performed the Omuwala Eitali lya Uganda, Seat belt, Lusoga Nhuunu, Fitina and Foda.
The show was sponsored by Pilser lager and Life Guard.
