TROPICAL Africa Bank will introduce Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) in March, an official has said, writes Peter Kaujju.
“The Bank recently signed a contract with Service and Computer Industries (NCR) to cater for the supply of ATMs, related equipment, software and implementation services which we hope to launch in March,†Mohammad Wahra, the bank’s managing director, said during an interview recently.
Wahra said the upcoming service is part of the bank’s commitment to provide new services, products and image.
He said the service would begin with the launch of two ATMs at the Kampala main branch and Jinja before moving upcountry.
He said the machines would be used for services like cash withdrawal, balance enquiries, deposits and mini-statements. NCR offers ATM services to 10 banks in the country. The banks are Stanbic, Barclays, Standard Chartered, Nile, Crane, Centenary, Orient, Baroda, Allied and Cairo International Bank.
