MADNESS is what transpired at the Ragga Dee and Jose Chameleone re-union bash held at Lido Beach, Entebbe, last Sunday.
Sparked off by the six-hour delay caused by the flamboyant pair who were both performing at Garden City, the bash that was initially set for 4:00pm started at 9:00pm.
Drama started with Chameleone threatening to fight any photographer who dared take a picture of his new flame, Danielle Atim.
Ragga Dee then gulped down Uganda Waragi till the bottle was a quarter way. This he did in front of a relaxed audience as he pranced on stage in a dramatic style as he sang his popular songs, Mbawe and Empeta.
Firebase Crew dread-locked singer and front man, Bobi Wine, also confirmed allegations that he takes marijuana. He said: “Muwoza njayi, mulaba twegana (Have we denied these allegations)?†No new song was performed. If anything, the artistes merely hollered on stage in an obvious drunken stupor. It was only DJ Dan Yo from Ange Noir and Rocky Giant from Jungle Beat Crew who briefly brought something new with their new voices in the music industry.
The highlight of the night was the emergence of Ashim, a five-year-old kid, who graced the stage with energetic performances to some of Chameleone’s songs like Jamila and Dorotia.
This impressed Chameleone who gave him sh100,000 in appreciation.
