STATE sports minister Charles Bakabulindi has said that it is not funding but indiscipline by all sports stake holders that has plunged the sports standards at a low level.
In an interview over the weekend, Bakabulindi said that money wasn’t the issue but rather the discipline of handling the little financial resources that the federations get.
“I think administrators need to work harder in building the public’s trust by utilising the little they have. That money is enough but it is not doing what it has to do and that is the biggest problem,” said Bakabulindi.
He said that it is time for all the stakeholders to rise up and start electing people who can deliver.
“What we need are people who have the potential to make things move. People who can be able to promote sports like any other product. If we can get these, then I see a great future for sports in Uganda.”
