BUGABULA North MP Moses Kizige and Mityana North MP Godfrey Kiwanda have started soliciting for support for the parliamentary Movement caucus chairmanship.
The chair fell vacant following the appointment of Charles Bakabulindi as state minister for sports.
“I will definitely contest and I want to take up the chairmanship so that I mobilise Movement MPs to make sure that article 105(2) is amended and term limits are removed.
“That is my cardinal point and I know all the Movement MPs who have the same thinking will support me,” Kizige, the deputy chairperson of the caucus, said on Tuesday.
Kiwanda has pinned up yellow posters, a Movement colour, on all parliament notice boards appealing for votes.
He said yesterday on phone, “I am going to contest for the chairmanship of the caucus. My main area of interest as caucus chairperson will be to make sure that all Movement MPs bounce back to parliament in 2006.”
