LIVE coverage of Parliament proceedings will go countrywide when parliament resumes on February 1.
Outgoing parliament public relations officer Kagole Kivumbi said yesterday arrangements to have all national media houses namely, Uganda television, Radio Uganda and Star FM to broadcast the proceedings had been finalised.
He, however, said private FM stations were free to broadcast the proceedings. “The linking facility has been already fixed at parliament but they are yet to test the signals. what is remaining is to sign a memorandum of understanding between parliament and the ministry of information,†Kagole said.
He said the government had waived the costs parliament would have incurred, to enable the public to follow parliamentary debates.
Parliament live broadcast in the past was done by WBS Television, a private station.
