THE traditional Luswata Cup started on a very low profile with umpires and some players caught unaware.

The annual tournament is played in memory of the late Fred Luswata, one of the longest serving administrators for the Uganda Cricket Association.

“I did not know anything about the start of the event and no umpire was assigned,” Francis Ekalunga chairman umpires committee said.

The games, that started late at different ovals, had Patidar upsetting Tornado B by nine runs at Kyambogo oval with Emmanuel Issaneez (5-25) doing the damage.

At Lugogo, Dan Ligyalingi scooped the man of match award after leading Nile CC to a 37 run victory over Castle XI. He picked four wickets and scored 38 runs.
Kutch Madu received a walk over against JACC.
