RENOWNED American boxing promotion company, Top Rank has taken on Africa Boxing Union (ABU) super bantamweight champion Abdu Tebazalwa.
Tebazalwa’s promoters Jukbox Productions have signed with Top Rank for the Ugandan to join the Las Vegas based firm.

Tebazalwa departs for Las Vegas next month, where he will be trained ahead of an anticipated Commonwealth title fight in London in June.

“Top Rank have a contractual obligation to take Tebazalwa to their camp and prepare him for the fight. We joined hands with Top Rank to enable him get proper training in America before a Commonwealth title fight,” Juxbox manager Michael Banga said.

“If it were not for his Africa title defence, he would already be in America.” His opponent is yet to be known.

Justin Juuko sealed the deal with Top Ranks proprietor Bob Arum. Top Rank once promoted Juuko but later fell out.

Tebazalwa will defend his title against Zambian Godwin Mutampuka today at Nakivubo stadium. His maiden ABU super bantamweight title defence is the main bout of the Col. Jet Mwebaze Memorial Boxing event.

Tebazalwa has promised to stop Mutampuka (6-1-1) in the third of the 12-round bout.
