SOCCER governing body FUFA, under pressure to reform their electoral process, have reinstated delegate Dennis Mbidde ahead of their ‘peace’ meeting with NCS today.

National Council of Sports (NCS) have agreed to meet FUFA and discuss an ultimatum to call fresh delegates’ polls. NCS had insisted the talks would only take place after the returning officer David Agong is dropped.

Agong threw out Mbidde claiming he was not rightly elected to represent Rubaga, on top of several other controversial rulings.
“We reviewed his case and saw that it was our guidelines that were wrong. We had to reinstate him,” said FUFA vice president Godfrey Kwizera.

Mbidde said FUFA’s turn-around is aimed at evening out the votes in the assembly in favour of Obua—by bringing in a delegate who supports Okiror in order to deny Lawrence Mulindwa.

“I will go in the assembly but only if Agong is out,” Mbidde said.

Mbidde has created controversy by claiming FUFA tribal politics cannot allow a candidate from Buganda win the presidency and for defying SOS by supporting Michael Okiror.

NCS chief Jasper Aligawesa confirmed the 2.30pm meeting. Sports state minister Charles Bakabulindi will attend.
