You are driving and two messages come in within a space of two minutes. So you break the traffic rules to find out what the emergency is.
You are having a meeting and the string in which the messages come makes you dive for your handbag to fish for your phone.
Maybe you had a fight with your boyfriend and he hasn’t called or even sent a text to say sorry. You are at the height of anxiety when your phone beeps and …. “Adam and Eve invite you for their wedding meetings every Monday at Eden restaurant…blah blah blah!â€
What? An invitation to a wedding meeting? Who on earth conceived the idea of sending wedding meeting invites over cell phones?
You and I know what a nuisance they can be. Actually, the real trouble is not the invites. The trouble is the insensitivity and untimeliness with which they come! sometimes you are totally broke; you need a fund- raising of your own. But instead beep…beep, the annoying messages come!
What is puzzling is even if you show disinterest from the beginning, they will faithfully send the annoying messages twice a week until the wedding.
I am not being tightfisted here. I would gladly share my savings with some couple intending to do the good thing when I can. But surely, there has to be a better way of going about it!
