ADRIAN Murenzi, of Ntare School in Mbarara District, who scored aggregate eight in the best eight subjects is to benefit from a scholarship scheme initiated by the school’s old boys.

His mother Lydia Twine, who is self-employed, is relieved of the burden of paying his school fees for the next two years.

In 1997, Ntare old boys established an award of full scholarship to students who score 8 aggregates in the best 8 subjects as long as they returned to the school for Advanced level.

The scholarship also applies for students who score AAAA at A’ level.
“I hope to offer Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and French at A’ level,” said Murenzi, whose first choice is Ntare.

“I like the school. With its academic excellence, there was no need of placing my first choice elsewhere,” he said.

“We are really excited and very grateful to God who has helped our son,” said Twine, who came to The New Vision offices with Murenzi and her daughter, Audrine Bakairubwa-Twine.

“I am thankful to God, my parents and well-wishers. I prayed and read a lot. My performance in class has been good but being the first took me by surprise,” Murenzi said.
