FACT WORLD

The tallest animals alive today are the giraffes. Some are over six metres high. Giraffes are found in the wild on the grassy plains of Africa, where their long necks enable them to eat leaves and twigs from the tall acacia trees.

This long neck has only seven bones in it, so it does not bend much. To lower its head for a drink, a giraffe has to spread its front legs wide apart.
