Mnet drops film
M-Net will not be screening the Jim Carrey blockbuster comedy Bruce Almighty in February. A debate on the channel’s website forum and comments from concerned movie buffs prompted Mnet to re-examine a scene featuring a light-hearted reference to the mayhem caused by a tidal wave. The channel’s decision makers then concluded that it would be distasteful to broadcast the film so soon after the tsunamis in the South Pacific. Bruce Almighty, released in 2003, tells the story of a selfish TV reporter, who is allowed to step into God’s shoes and control the universe.

Silk Lounge with ‘Resident Evil’
Fans of horror movies will love this one. Tomorrow, the Silk Lounge will screen Resident Evil: Apocalypse, a superior sci-fi suspense sequel. The 94-minute sequel is about Alice (Milla Jovovich) who, after escaping the horrors of the underground, is thrust back into a war raging above the ground. Lots of action!

Toto thrills writers
If anyone loves with intense passion, that person must be a creative writer. This was the feeling at the Writer's Night at the National Theatre last week. Though many read, it was a ‘toto’ who carried the night by reciting a poem to God. With confidence, she knew God would “hear because he is near.” She received a standing ovation, which started before she was evven done. It was the last performance on the gardens.
