TWO unidentified burglars broke into Lugazi town council offices and took off with over sh2m which was set aside to pay salaries.
The incident happened on Sunday at about 9:00pm, the Lugazi police station CID chief Kaazi Wacha said. He said the safe, in which the money was kept, was recovered at a railway line.
Two guards were detained for questioning.
