ALL Anglican churches are heading for difficult times if they do not start income-generating projects, the bishop of West Ankole diocese, William Magambo, has said.

“You should not only rely on Sunday church collections to develop your churches. There is need to develop other sources of money,” he said.

Magambo was officiating at the confirmation service of 20 lay leaders who had bee
n on a five-year probation.

The function was held at Bweranyangi church of Uganda in Bushenyi district recently.
He said the church of Uganda had rejected $200,000 (sh400m) from churches that supported homosexuality in the US.

Magambo also said bishops, pastors, reverends and all church leaders should not sit around and wait for assistance from foreign churches, which would later force them to conform to things not in line with church norms.
