ON entering the school campus, Kampala’s fourth best, Elias Luyimbazi from Kawempe Muslim School, prostrated as he said, “People, this is where I come from,†reports Hillary Kiirya.
Luyimbazi, who got 2AAAA in History, Economics, Geography and Luganda, repeatedly prostrated (right) as students cheered him on.
The school was celebrating when The New vision arrived to interview the academic stars. Accompanied by his father, Swaibu Serugooti, Luyimbazi, who was the head prefect, attributed his success to God and teamwork among students. He also said words of encouragement from the teachers and the tough school rules helped him.
“I want to do Law. I come from a poor family and my father is a retired civil servant with quite a big family, so I used to pay fees in installments but being the head prefect helped me a lot to keep at school,†Luyimbazi said. Ends
