THE death of the young artiste has caused shock in society especially among artistes., Twenty-year-old Kefa Mwesigwa, the R & B Coca Cola real star passed away on February 6 in Hoima Hospital after a short illness.

Speculations are rife in Hoima town that he was bewitched and that this was masterminded by his own uncle who reportedly goes ‘under water’.

Having emerged as Capital FM Coca Cola real star winner in 2003, Kefa became the fastest rising artiste in Uganda.

Soon after the competition, he recorded and released his debut single Better Man, which busted charts across Kampala fm radio stations, becoming a favourite for most Ugandan R ‘n’ B fans.

Kefa then unleashed Get With You, a collaboration with Clear Kut’s Navio, which was equally hot on fm radios. This was a fine hip-hop blended R n’ B track featuring the production talents of beat masters from South Africa’s Gallo records, an offer he got after winning the real stars competition. It is sad to note that Kefa has left a song, which was yet to be released in studio produced by Geoffrey of True Vine records. “I’ll go ahead and release the song. Nothing more can be done now,” said Geoffrey as tears filled his eyes. The song had been slated for release this February. Many local stars could not hide their praise for the fallen artiste.

As for Steve Jean, the youngster would have died after realising his dreams. “He was supposed to complete his album but opted to first go to school and first complete his studies. It’s so sad that he has just passed away.” Born 20 years ago to Mr. and Mrs. Mwesigwa in Hoima, Kefa was the last born in the family of six, He was laid to rest in Hoima.
