Nabumali HS dethrones Maseno

NABUMALI High School held off a determined effort from Maseno School to lift the 5th edition of the MTN Budo hockey Open on Sunday. Normal time ended in a goalless draw before the Kenyans were outsmarted on penalties.
Emma Owani, Juma Kirya and Simon Mulati converted three penalties for Nabumali to claim the title they lost to Maseno in 2003.
Meanwhile, three penalties in overtime gave City High School a valuable 3-2 win over girls’ defending champions King’s College Budo.
Betty Omagor and Carol Namugyenyi were the architects of City High School’s success.
