280 sacked

MUKONO — The district has sacked 280 primary school teachers for lack of academic qualifications. The senior personnel officer in the education department, Margaret Nakito, last week said the Government had deleted the affected teachers from the pay roll. “The public service ministry informed them to go for training but they refused,” Nakito said in a release last week.
