KAMPALA
— The Police yesterday recovered a body of a man believed to have been murdered and dumped on a railway line in Kireka, a city suburb. Both legs of the man, identified as Edward Kyanda, 37, of Kito zone in Kireka, had been crushed by a train but there were cuts on his forehead, which reinforces the police suspicion that the victim could have been murdered and dumped on the line, a ploy to disguise the murder.

Case set
KAMPALA
— Court has accepted to hear the Democratic Party faction’s application against the Registrar General (RG) in which they want the party to be gazetted for registration. Hearing has been set for March 9. However, court has given party president Paul Ssemogerere’s group a go ahead to file their appeal against its earlier ruling rejecting their application to defend the RG, Kyomuhendo Bisereko, in the faction’s application.

Five killed
MASAKA
— A rainstorm has ravaged the district, killing five people, injuring an unspecified number of others and destroying property worth millions of shillings. The damage took place in Bugerere village in Kyanamukaka sub-county on Wednesday evening, the Speaker of Parliament said. Edward Ssekandi was addressing parliament yesterday.
