GOVERNMENT health centres in Kampala are to start operating 24 hours in a bid to decongest Mulago Hospital.
GOVERNMENT health centres in Kampala are to start operating 24 hours in a bid to decongest Mulago Hospital, reports Catherine Ntabadde.
The 10 health centres run by Kampala City Council (KCC) have been running up to 5:00pm daily. The city secretary for health, Francis Lubowa, on Wednesday said several centres had been upgraded and would soon be equipped to operate 24 hours.
“Our centres will soon start operating 24 hours. This will decongest Mulago because patients with minor cases also go to Mulago, yet they can be handled at our centres,†he said.
Some of the upgraded health centres are Kawala, Kiruddu-Buziga, Kawempe, Kitebi and Komamboga.
