THE African Development Bank (ADB) has given $33.6m(sh57b) to the agriculture ministry, state minister for agriculture Dr Kibirige Ssebunya has said.

THE African Development Bank (ADB) has given $33.6m(sh57b) to the agriculture ministry, state minister for agriculture Dr Kibirige Ssebunya has said.
Ssebunya said the five-year loan would be channelled through the National Livestock Productivity Improvement Project.
He said on Monday during an interview in Kampala that 28 districts would benefit.
Ssebunya said the funds would be used to increase household incomes through increased livestock productivity and marketing.
“The funds will develop 10 dams to supply water for animals and provide veterinary inputs like tsetse fly and trypanosomiasis drugs,†he said.
He said the resources would also be used to rehabilitate 75 animal dips, provide 4,800 spring pumps, reagents, drugs, upgrade 15 district laboratories.
