Peter Ogwang not the only croc catcher

SIR– Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) greatly appreciates the accolades following the heroic capture of one of the largest crocodiles in Lake Victoria. It was a great achievement for all involved, and more so for the rangers who braved the hostile atmosphere to save both the people and the crocodil

SIR– Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) greatly appreciates the accolades following the heroic capture of one of the largest crocodiles in Lake Victoria. It was a great achievement for all involved, and more so for the rangers who braved the hostile atmosphere to save both the people and the crocodile.
We, however, object to the insinuation that Peter Ogwang was alone in this heroic act ("Ranger Ogwang is a great asset," March 11, 2005). UWA would like to clarify that in addition to Peter, there were two other rangers, Christopher Musumba and Robert Mbagaya who worked just as hard in capturing the reptile. Musumba and Mbagaya received training from Dr. Brady Barr and were equally commended for their bravery and enthusiasm. Credit should be given to the whole team.
