THE Electoral Commis-sion (EC) has launched a 10-month pilot civic and voter education project for women living in the IDP camps in Gulu and Pader districts.
EC chairman Haji Bar-du Kiggundu said the project would enhance understanding and appreciation of the rights, roles and responsibilities of voters, especially women.

He said this at launch of the pilot project at Unyama IDP camp in Gulu on Thursday.
He said the project would increase participation in registration of voters.
Kiggundu said project would train sub-county supervisors and parish civic and voter educators.

“The commission will work with stakeholders to put to good use the investment in this partnership. I call upon your full participation in the project by mobilising and attending the programmed sessions in the project,” he said.

Gulu LC5 vice-chairman Paul Ojok Kerobino asked women to attend the civic education.
