Bell Lager is to sponsor the launch of Bebe Coolâ€™s new album, Nkolerera Baana Bange (I am working for my children).
The launch is to take place at Hotel Africana on 25, starting 7:00pm. Bell Lagerâ€™s brand manager, Oscar Mulira, announced the sponsorship to the press at Hotel Africana last Tuesday.
Mulira said Bell Lager, Uganda Breweries flagship brand, took up the sponsorship in recognition of Bebe Coolâ€™s vision of uplifting reggae hits to international level and the social value of his music.
â€œWe believe that Bell Lager being a socially responsible brand, it is fitting to support artistes with socially responsible messages. Bebe Coolâ€™s popularity as best Artiste in the Reggae Category in PAM Awards 2004 coupled with his audience of professionals, who take pride in the good things of life, will fit well into the brandâ€™s profile,â€ Mulira said. Bebe Cool said his eight-track album is to change the perspective of people about local artistes.
He added that his songs did not only carry constructive messages, but were also wrapped in captivating beats.He said of Bell Lagerâ€™s sponsorship, â€œI feel so proud to be associated with Bell Lager as they come to help me spread my wings even further and see what I can achieve. I feel I am shining on with Bell Lager and this is just, but the beginning.â€
The album has the tracks Nkolerera Baana Bange, Talimba Yesu (Jesus is faithful), Ensi Madaala, Embaga (wedding), Yesu Asemi Wengo (version of Yesu Talimba), Ni Shada Yawo (it is their fault), Awete (let him go), and Sambagala. Bell Lager will take up 70% of the sponsorship leaving MTN Uganda with 25% and Capital FM with 5%.
The launch concert will feature renowned local artistes, who include Jose Chameleone, Bobbie Wine, Juliana Kanyomozi, Emperor Orlando, Winnie Munyenga, Geoffrey Lutaaya and Mesach Ssemakula.
Kenyan artistes Nameless, Redsan and Necessary Noise will also perform.
