The MTN Heathens will be looking to qualify for their second straight Bell Lager Rugby League semi-finals when they take on a much-chastened Black Pirates team at the Kyadondo grounds today.
An ill-prepared and over-confident Heathens side lost to the Pirates earlier on in their only loss this year, but they have since re-organised and have not lost a game since then. It is hard to see the Pirates, who nevertheless always raise their game against the Heathens, give the champions much of a scare.
But the biggest game of the day will be at Kampala, where seven times league winners Mango Kobs take on a resurgent LG Rhinos team. The Rhinos gave the Kobs a scare earlier on, and with any luck should have beaten the Heathens last weekend.
The Kobs are without their inspirational captain and national prop Fred Mudoola.
The Shield semi-finals also take place today, just before the Super six games. Sailors play Entebbe Mongers while Saracens take on Boks.
* THE second round of the 10-a-side national division schools championships resume with over 12 schools taking part in the central region at Kyadondo ground today.
Makerere College won the first round.
