LAST Friday at Rock Bar Gardens, dancemania, a solo dancing competition rocked. Thirty-two contestants brought their own music and it was clear from the onset that traditional music was going to prevail.

Pearl, who danced to Nyamuguru We, a Kinyarwanda track, drew tremendous support. Tania who was dressed like Tshala Mwana, jumped onto the floor and somersaulted several times on stage drawing wild cheers from the crowd. Another pleasantry came from plump Jessica .K, who danced to 50 Cent’s In da Club and let bare her underwear for all to see.

Other contestants included Wako who danced to Bongo Flava, while Lady Joan put on an erotic dance.

The climax of the competition came when Maureen Atim, walked to the stage in a very skimpy dress and put on an erotic dance. The dance was so erotic that she was asked to come back on stage and give an encore.

There was also speculation from the judges as to wehther she was wearing underwear or not! The competition was judged by Speke Hotel’s Prabat Miswa, Ken Love of Radio One and Timothy Bukumunhe, Puru and Bedi. Twenty two finalists who made the cut will compete in the next round this Friday at 9:30pm.
