OPPOSITION youth groups, the Popular Resistance Against Life Presidency (PRALP) and the Youth Brigade, will demonstrate on Kampala streets on Thursday in support of Irish Rock singer Sir Bob Geldof’s attack on president Museveni.

PRALP members Muwanga Kivumbi and Asuman Basalirwa told the press yesterday that about 1,000 university students would echo Geldof’s recent message that Museveni should hand over power in 2006.

Presidential hopeful and leader of the youth brigade Hajji Nasser Sebaggala told another press conference that he would mobilise the public for a demonstration on the same day to show solidarity with Geldof.

“In order to show solidarity with the donor community’s firm stand against life presidency, I have decided to call for a national demonstration on March 31,” Sebaggala said at his home in Bugolobi in Kampala.

Sebaggala did not say at what time and where the demonstration would start or end.

Hundreds of university students stormed Kampala streets on Monday to protest Geldof’s remarks and show their support for a third term for Museveni.
