The kingdom resolved this during the Orukurato (parliament) session at Mucwa Council Chambers in Fort Portal municipality on Friday. The session presided over by the speaker, the Rev. Clovis Kyalimpa, was attended by Toro prime minister Steven Nyabongo, Bunyagabu county MP and state minster for justice and constitutional affairs Adolf Mwesige. Toro cabinet ministers unanimously passed the resolution. Under the regional tier, districts will form their own government and the king will be the titular head of the regional tier. Recently, the central government and Mengo reached an agreement over the same issue. In a statement read out by Toro regent Professor Oswald Ndolereire, the Omukama, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, said the regional tier would bring unity and development in the kingdom Present were the head of Babito clan, Charles Kamurasi, Princess Elizabeth Bagaya and Kabarole district council officials. Some members, however, called for amendments in the document. Kyalimpa said the amendments would be done after the regional tier has been deemed. A five-member committee was appointed to look into the possible amendments of the document. Ends
