Upgrade trading centres

SIR — I propose that for faster modernisation in Uganda, the government should upgrade trading centres into town councils and municipalities.
SIR — I propose that for faster modernisation in Uganda, the government should upgrade trading centres into town councils and municipalities.
This is good because the peasant majority will be transformed into a business community who will be a source of revenue to the government. The government will also create jobs and employment for the people. The number of political posts will also be increased in these urban areas.
The government will be faced with the challenge of providing ing electricity to these areas to promote entertainment and industrialisation.
The electricity will also be used for domestic purposes. These urban areas will attract facilities like schools and hospitals, among other amenities.
