JUNIOR Kwebiha churned out 79 runs as ACC thumped Tornado B by 25 runs in the semi-finals of the Mawanda Cup at Lugogo cricket oval yesterday.
Kenneth Kamyuka, making a return to Tornado B after a professional stint in South Africa, put up an impoverished performance that saw him notch just 18 runs off 76 balls.
Ivan Phawi yielded 37 runs while Clive Kyagumgu took three wickets for 16 runs to shove Africa into the finals of the second event of the national cricket calendar. They play Tornado A.
Joel Olweny’s 60 runs proved sufficient in helping Tornado A to a 131-run victory over Wanderers at Kyambogo.
The tournament is played in memory of Prince David Mawanda, the first chairman of the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA).
