THE parliamentary committee on presidential and foreign affairs yesterday failed to sit for lack of quorum. The session that was supposed to scrutinise the indicative budget estimates for the Movement Secretariat was postponed till Thursday. Committee vice-chairperson Sammy Lotte (Mororo municipality) kept on making endless calls to members but only Michael Ssebalu (Busiro East) made it.

FORMER Kigulu North MP Rtd Lt. Col. Chris Mudoola has declared his intention to unseat incumbent Francis Mukama. Mudoola was on Saturday meeting residents of the four sub-counties of Nawandala, Nabitende, Nambale and Namungalwe at Nawandala Secondary School, Iganga district.
Earlier, residents had apologised to Mudoola over letting him down in the 2001 polls.

FDC snubbed

THE Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s effort to register members in Kyotera town, Rakai district hit a snag on Saturday when residents refused to turn up for the exercise.
But Rakai FDC’s coordinator, Senfuka Bagenda, said residents had feared to register with them because they needed an explanation before they gave in their names.
