Nusura Tiperu, did you really mean what you said?

SIR — About two months ago, Major Kakooza Mutale’s excesses were discussed in parliament. Mrs Miria Matembe narrated what took place in Mbarara during the 2001 presidential elections. She saw people bleeding from the beatings meted out by Mutale’s soldiers. Mr Ben Wacha narrated how people’s buttocks were bayoneted for the raising the Besigye sign, the V signal in Apac. When Nusura Tiperu rose to contribute, she stunned viewers when she countered the above claims, saying Mutale was being unfairly blamed, because he “spiced up the elections.” According to Tiperu therefore, the assault on the electorate was light drama! Of course she does not believe anything she said, but said it all the same, in the hope of pleasing her boss.
