By Swalley Kenyi THE Lady Cranes volleyball team that returned winless from the Women’s Africa Championships in Mauritius on Thursday is contented after individual players scooping FIVB awards. Brenda Nanungi and Agatha Baliddawa were fourth best receiver and scorer of the tournament respectively. Baliddawa had a total of 28 spikes and three blocks while Nanungi had only seven faulty receives out of 43 serve receptions, putting her four behind Africa’s best Cameroon professional Patricia Ndolo based in France. Players Dorothy Nampiima (fifth) and Kulthum Nakamanya (sixth) were among the best African setters in the women championships. Harriet Ssali was the fifth best digger of the tournament, which was also a qualifier for the World Championships next year. Cameroon became the second African women’s team to secure the 2006 World Championship final round spot after defeating Tunisia 3-1. Ends
