Handing over the contracts at NWSC’s training wing at Old Port Bell Road in Kampala, William Muhairwe, the corporation’s managing director, said the contracts were awarded to enhance efficiency.
Muhairwe said staff were awarded the contracts with targets.
He said the employees are allowed to take any surplus collections.
“We resorted to using our own employees after the exit of Ondeo Water Services. Whereas they used to collect sh1.8b monthly, we are collecting sh3.4b using our highly-motivated workers,†Muhairwe said.
