THE Six kayakers who embarked on a gruelling Akagera River Expedition have returned from their advantage that covered a total distance of 4,160 miles.

The team, that started its journey from Nyungwe Forest, with the highest altitude rain forest in Africa in Rwanda, was made up of Hendri Coetzee, Peter Meredith, Alex Mihailovic, Dale Jardin, Paulo Babi and Jane Dicey.

The crew went through the highest peaks in the heart of Africa, through the vast jungle, perilous crocodile-infested swamps, sweltering deserts and unforgiving rapids of the mighty River Nile.
