Councillors of Bukigai sub-county in Mbale district have blamed their chief, Andrew Muleki, for the failed government projects in the area.
They accused Muleki of ignoring their participation in the programmes.
They said since their election, they had never attended any sensitisation training on how to deliberate on development issues.
They accused the chairman of giving the cows, goats and pigs, given to them under the Plan for the Modernisation of Agriculture programme, to his relatives and friends, who sold them.
The acting chief administrative officer, William Masai, said a poor attitude towards work, greed and lack of unity between the chief, councillors and the executive hindered development in the area.
Masai asked Muleki to organise a workshop soon.
