Gloom and panic yesterday filled Koch-Goma camp as inhabitants mourned 10 people killed by LRA rebels.
The rebels went on rampage, battering and shooting civilians they found in gardens near the camp.
Fourteen were severely injured, some of whom were admitted to health centres. A survivor, Ayaa Ojok, 52, said she was in her garden when the rebels, armed with guns and axes, attacked.
Koch-Goma camp is in Gei village, Koch-Goma sub-county, Nwoya county in Gulu district.
Some of the dead were identified as alipayo Anywar, Otto Acala, a pupil of Goma P7 school, Doreen Atuku, Enesta Acayo, Kitara Opiyo, a teacher at Goma central, Matata Ocaya and Charles Otto, who died at the health centre.
The UPDF 4th division commander, Col. Nathan Mugisha (above), urged sub-county leaders to liaise with the security committee to protect the camps.
