THE state did not accuse the European Union (EU) of fuelling the northern rebellion, information state minister Nsaba Buturo has said.
Anne Mugisa reports that Buturo told journalists at the weekly press briefing on Thursday that the accusations were concocted.
He, however, said some political leaders used donors to work against the country’s interests “in the mistaken belief that they were hurting the National Resistance Movement party.
“They dissuade donors to withdraw support. Such behaviour must be condemned because it is unpatriotic and against the interests of ordinary Ugandans,†Buturo said. He said the Government valued support from donors and appreciated their right to know how the support was being used, “but they should be sensitive to the sensitivities of Ugandans.â€
