CLAIMS by the former National Social Security Fund (NSSF) board chairman about the contested audit report on the botched US225m (about 394b) Nsimbe Housing Estate are false, the Auditor General has said.

He asked court to dismiss the application with costs.

In a 10-page affidavit presented to Justice Oscar Okumu Wengi, John Muwanga said the claims Geoffrey Onegi Obel were false.

Mike Chibita, the President’s advisor on legal matters, has also filed an affidavit, saying the application should be dismissed. The affidavits were filed on May 3.

Obel wants the report nullified on grounds that it contravenes the laws of natural justice.

He argues that as chairperson of the then board of directors of the fund, he was neither given the draft nor the final copy of the report, contrary to the principles of natural justice and standard audit procedure.
