A Pakistani was on Tuesday arrested on suspicion of forging a cheque for $15,000 (about sh26.7m) drawable from an account of a top UN official in a city bank.

A Pakistani was on Tuesday arrested on suspicion of forging a cheque for $15,000 (about sh26.7m) drawable from an account of a top UN official in a city bank.
Nobhar Gul, 29, was arrested by fraud detectives at the Lugogo Standard Chartered Bank branch where he had gone to cash the cheque.
The Police yesterday said Gul, unemployed and a resident of Wakaliga zone Seven in Lunguja, a Kampala city suburb, impersonated Svante Yngrot, the chief security officer with the United Nations High commissioner for Refugees, by forging his identity card.
The acting commissioner crime, Edison Mbiringi, yesterday said Gul forged a standard chartered Bank cheque number 000022.
He said Gul would be arraigned in court soon.
The Police said Gul also entered the country illegally.
