Farmer Bukenya?
Former ESO boss David Pulkol says that instead of performing state duties like his counterparts in other countries, Vice President Gilbert Bukenya has been made a farmer by President Museveni. Addressing a conference organised by the International Relations and Diplomacy Students Association at Makerere University,
Pulkol said, “I feel sorry for some people like Bukenya. As a VP for this country, he would command much respect from people by conducting state duties. But the government just gives him money to travel in distant villages promoting upland rice.” No comment.

Humourous Ali

Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye, chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on HIV/AIDS, has explained the recent shift in the increase of HIV/AIDS infections from teenagers to adults of 25-40 years. He said, “Between 20 and 40 years of age, many people are searching for suitable marriage partners to settle down with and it is through this process that many get infected with HIV/AIDS”. Which is why this column advises that one should go for a test before ‘tasting’. Is the message clear?

Young Nankabirwa!
She may seem an adult but she insists she is still a youth. While commissioning the NRM-Youth League Computer Training Centre in Ntinda recently, defence state minister Ruth Nankabirwa said, “I was in Bombo but I braved the jam at Bwaise. I may have grown past the youth age bracket but look at me, I am still youthful enough.”

Where power lies!
Margaret Kihika, the Deputy Mayor of Fort Portal who is also the treasurer of Uganda Change Agent Association (Western), has some advice for women who want their husbands to get involved in development activities. While passing out 25 Change Agents in Kabarole, Margaret said, “The best time to convince your husband to get involved in your activities is just before sex. Since men want sex badly, they always succumb to any conditions for the sake of having sex”. Isn’t that blackmail?

Shy policeman
While addressing the press at CPS recently, Deputy Police Commander Basil Mugisha said he had feared to jog from home to his workplace because he had been advised by his neighbour that he might be mistaken for a lunatic and abandoned the idea. Oh dear!
