CHALES Lwanga raised his case for a slot on the Ireland-bound national team with an unbeaten 101 as Africa CC beat Castle Development XI by 165 runs at Kyambogo.
Lwanga, who batted through the 50 overs unscathed, had earlier been considered as a solution to the ever-faltering national team top batting order, but was dropped.
In other matches that marked the opening of the Casle Lager League yesterday, national skipper Joel Olweny hit 101 as champions Tornado tronced Jinja side JACC by 265 runs. Frank Nsubuga produced his best ever with five wickets for two runs.
In Entebbe Rogers Mukasa sent signals to the U-19 selectors when his 41 runs guided Nile CC to a two-wicket victory over former champions Wanderers.
Tornado B beat Patidar by four wickets.
