KAMPALA City Council has ordered all small firms collecting garbage from the central division to work under M/S Nabugabo Updeal Joint Venture.
A statement released recently said the Mayor of Kampala, Ssebaana Kizito, said, “The conflict between Nabugabo and other collectors may create insecurity in the city.
“Nabugabo are the main contractors. All the other firms should work under them. If they fail to agree, then Nabugabo takes precedence.”
The directive follows an appeal by Nabugabo to the Resident District Commissioner, Dr. Stanley Kinyatta, saying their work is being sabotaged by the small firms.
However, Nabugabo’s managing director, Musa Ssenyondo, said they had tried to negotiate with the firms and failed.
