James Odomel, writes that the programme valued at sh400m will provide 14 scholarships to cover tuition fees, accommodation and living allowance for the beneficiaries. Uganda and Tanzania will have two places each while Kenya takes 10.
Launching the scheme in Nairobi, Kenya, recently, Ken Kariuki, the EABL director of external affairs, said the programme was designed to offer scholarships in broader areas of studies and to more universities within the region.
“EABL is an East African company and we wanted this to be reflected in our education focus. We want to spread this success across East Africa,†Kariuki said.
