Nile crocodiles live primarily around the rivers, marshes, and lakes of southern Africa. The average life span of a Nile crocodile in the wild is about 45 years, but they have been known to live up to 80 years or so in captivity.

Although they are cold-blooded, crocs keep their body temperatures relatively constant. A snoozing Nile crocodile may often cool off by keeping its mouth open.

Nile crocodiles will eat almost anything! They consume all sorts of fish, turtles, and crustaceans.
