INDIVIDUALS outside the FUFA assembly have finally been given a chance to head Ugandan football.

FUFA normalisation committee’s constitutional proposals have opened up the contest for the national soccer body’s top job.

A provision in the committee’s statute proposals says an outsider can become an executive member if seconded by one of FUFA’s affiliate associations.

The proposals will be availed to the public on Saturday for debate before being forwarded to FIFA. They will later be ratified by a FUFA extra ordinary assembly in August before fresh grassroot polls in October.

But while a leeway has been given on executive posts, the committee is proposing scrapping ex-internationals association delegates.

The committee argues that EXIFA, initially represented by three delegates, is inactive. The committee headed by Dr. James Sekajugo also says that the former stars have several other avenues to become delegates.

Another drastic change could see a reduction of schools delegates from 13 to one.

Noticeably missing in the proposals is the FIFA requirement of a Chief Executive Officer who is supposed to cater for the day to day running of the association.
